Tuition is due twice per dance season, September 1st and January 1st. Payment plans are available. If you wish to use our payment plan, your credit/debit card will be automatically charged on the 10th of each month.

Amounts will vary for each family.
No student will receive their costume, unless balance is paid off by June 1st

General Rules & Helpful Tips for Parents & Dancers

  • Please keep the Dressing Room & Lobby Area Clean and Tidy
  • Dispose of ALL trash in the trash cans
  • Clearly mark ALL of your Dance Shoes & Personal Belongings
  • Hair should be pulled back into a pony tail or a bun for ballet classes
  • NSDS is not responsible for lost or stolen items
  • No cell phones, street shoes, gum, food or drink in the dance studios
  • Direct all concerns with the OFFICE, please keep negative comments to yourself & contact the NSDS staff immediately
  • Often check for important info located on our “info walls & boards”
  • Please be prompt for your dance classes
  • Please respect “classroom time” and refrain from interruptions

North Shore Dance Studio provides quality alterations (if needed) for your child for an additional $5-$10/ costume

We order our costumes from the finest costume companies in the country. Costumes will be distributed in May-June prior to pictures and recital

Attire
Pink tights and black leotards should be worn for ages 2 ½ to 2nd Grade Ballet and Tap Classes. Dance pants or shorts can be worn for Elementary Jazz/Hip-Hop

Students should wear form fitting clothing for dance classes, such as dance shorts & pants, tank tops, and t-shirts. A black leotard and pink tights are required for all ballet classes. A bun is required for ballet as well.

We carry our required dancewear such as tights, leotards, tanks, t-shirts, and shorts that may be worn during dance class.

Shoes
2 ½ -2nd Grade should wear pink leather ballet slippers and black patent leather (shiny) tie tap shoes. NSDS has a re-sale shelf with a variety of sizes and prices to choose from.

Final Shoe Decisions for recital will be made in January/February for 3rd Grade & Up. Black or tan jazz and tap shoes will be just fine for September-January Dance Classes. Pink Canvas or leather ballet slippers should be worn for all ballet classes. “Foot Undeez” or Dance Paws can be worn for Contemporary which are sold at NSDS for $17. Any sort of sneaker can be worn for Hip-Hop class as long as they are not worn outside prior to class.

Re-Sale Shelf
NSDS has a re-sale shelf to make finding dance shoes as easy as possible. Shoes are usually available for $5-$20 depending upon the style, size as well as condition. If you have shoes to sell, place them in a zip-lock baggie with your name and price clearly labeled. If someone purchases your shoe, we will notify you along with an envelope of money.

Cancellations/Weather
North Shore Dance Studio is not responsible for cancelled classes due to lack of enrollment or inclement weather. For studio closings please tune into WISN Channel 12. North Shore Dance Studio is in the City of Mequon and the Ozaukee County. We generally follow with the
Mequon –Thiensville School District.

Absences
Please notify the office if your child will be absent from dance class via telephone or e-mail. We encourage classes to be made up in an appropriate class level. If you are enrolled in Ballet V, you will need to attend another ballet class to meet your two class/week requirement.

Refunds
Refunds are given only under the following circumstances. Refunds will be pro-rated from the date of notification.

  • Written notice from Doctor due to illness or injury
  • Student moves out of town
  • We are unable to place a student in a class
  • Costume refunds will only be given if notified prior to December 31st. No costume refunds will be given after January 1st.

Annual Dance Recital
NSDS is a performance studio , providing a professional dance recital which includes all of our dancers.

  • Dancers who miss multiple classes during the last 2-3 months may be restricted from performing in the recital.
  • Dress rehearsals for the recital are mandatory for everyone in order to be included in the recital.
